Triethanolamine (same as TEA) is the biggest flag that jump out at me.
Triethanolamine is used in makeup products such as eyeliners, mascara, eye shadows, blushers, make-up bases and foundations, as well as in fragrances, hair care products, hair dyes, wave sets, shaving products, sunscreens, and skin care and skin cleansing products. It acts as a pH adjuster in the formula, help with the emulsifying of water-soluble and oil-soluble ingredients; so they can blend together better.
The CIR (Cosmetic Ingredient Review) Expert Panel evaluated the scientific data and concluded that Triethanolamine were safe for use in cosmetics and personal care products designed for discontinuous, brief use followed by thorough rinsing from the surface of the skin. In products intended for prolonged contact with the skin, the concentration of Triethanolamine should not exceed 5%. Triethanolamine should not be used in products containing N-nitrosating agents to prevent the formation of possibly carcinogenic nitrosamines.
The cosmetic database rated Triethanolamine as moderate concern, toxic for immune, respiratory, and skin. In many animals studies it affected the organ sense at very low doses. In some vitro (test tube) studies it even cause mutation. Yuck!

How do you use it?
Use in step you normally use sheet mask. The mask contains a lot of essence so I cut one corner and squeeze out some essence and slather it on my face first then put the sheet mask on top.

My results:
My skin did look and feel brighter and more plump after using the mask. But it was an uncomfortable 30 min of masking for me. The fragrance is too strong and it’s not a natural fragrance. It gave me a headache. But I’m very sensitive to smell in general…so you might have a different experience.
Worth repurchase? it’s a NO for me. This mask contains A LOT essences (30ml) that’s a good thing but it’s not for me 🙁 The stars ingredients is far too low on the list, even lower than the dangerous one. So I’ll have pass on this one. It’s better be safe than sorry!
